This is an individual that has an interest in the development of youth and enjoys being with young people. A volunteer can have many different roles and purposes such as being a club leader, chaperon, host, resource person, driver, coach and more.

The requirements for a volunteer includes:

  • Genuine interest in young people
  • Patience and understanding
  • Enthusiasm
  • Willingness to learn new ideas and methods
  • Sense of organization
  • Desire & ability to listen to young people

Note:  This is a position of trust and in order to ensure a safe environment in which young people can learn and grow, all volunteers in a position of trust must complete the Ontario 4-H screening procedure.

Time and responsibility levels for a 4-H volunteer vary with what a volunteer can give but the rewards returned to you are ten fold.  Volunteers are always required to aid with the program in a variety of areas.  If this describes you and you would like to be involved, please contact us:
