WHAT IS 4-H???

4-H is a youth personal development program for youth aged 10 to 21 years of age.  4-H was once originally thought of as a rural farm program only - but now is offered throughout Ontario, Canada and the World to all youth who wish to become 4-H Members.  It's in your community.

WHAT DO THE 4 H'S MEAN?

HEAD
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Practicing decision making
  • Increasing knowledge of agriculture, food & life skills
  • Learning how to think
HEART
  • Making new friends 
  • Accept responsibilities

TEMISKAMING 4-H ASSOCIATION'S OBJECTIVES


  • To encourage and promote a high standard of excellence in the 4-H program and elevate the 4-H program in the district of Temiskaming
  • Uphold the Ontario 4-H Council policies as stipulated by the Ontario 4-H Volunteer's Handbook
  • Maintain a good working relationship between the Ontario 4-H Council and the 4-H Club Volunteers.
  • Provide opportunity for 4-H Club Volunteers to share in the planning process and implementation of a quality district 4-H program which adheres to the 4-H philosophy and policies
  • Provide all district 4-H volunteers with support and a resource information to further enhance their individual club programs
